Jenee 'Jen' Davis
When did you realize that you’re transgender?
Early on in Highschool. I knew I was diffeent and loved girls clothes yet I preferred women. Carried over to college where I finanly experimented with going out. (Halloween). Post college I knew I needed to tell any future mates that i liked to dress. Once I was esptablishe din the working world.I started to go out and expand my horizons at the local bars in Milwaukee. I knew where I fit in.
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, boating, swimming, tennis, almost any outdoor sport. I am a warm weather girl and prefer the summer. I do like the change of seasons, unitl it gets too damn cold! Then I try and head south to Florida!
How do you give back to your community?
I try and help "newbees" as much as I can. I love it when they finally "see themselves" for the 1st time and realize the world is not so scary. Just get out and have fun! I also have assisted a local (MIlw, WI) LGBTQ home for displaced teenagers. I try and help out as much as I can around the holidays as that is the time it hurts the most for them. I can not imagine kicking your child out because of who they are. They need our love ALL the time.
What inspired you to join the Vanity Club?
I had seen Vanity Club girls at several of the Be-Alls I attended throught the years and knew a little about them. I was always in awe of how beautiful they were and how they carried themsleves with such confidence. I was asked to join (By my now) big Sister and put my heart and soul into my application. I so wanted to be a member and knew that I could fit in. After I got in I litterally smled for days and days... Months would go by and I would ever so often think about becoming a member and just SMILE! I was so happy to be a member of such an elite group of Trans Women.
What do you enjoy most about the Vanity Club?
The Sisterhood and memories I have with my sisters. Traveling to new places and going out and about with my sisters having fun.
