Amandatti 'Datti' Kapella

How out are you?
Hmmm .... "out" is a subjective term. I'm quite sure people know that I'm transgender. I get enough odd looks and sideways glances to keep that in my mind. All that being said, I present myself as female 100% of the time. I don't back away if someone asks if I am transgender and am always willing to help someone understand (at least) my story.

What are your hobbies and interests?
Once I retired, I felt it was an opportunity to explore those other things that interest me and that keep me excited! I'm an avid photographer, love both tennis and (now) pickleball, enjoy brain exercises like playing chess and bridge, and absolutely love sharing that passion. I teach pickleball and compete in local tournaments ... making me keenly aware of the trans athlete issues prevalent today. All of my identification has me specified as "female" ... but I haven't yet had to brandish it play anywhere.

How do you give back to your community?
I give of myself to the community at large. Within the LGBTQ+ community, I provide an open ear and have supported (emotionally and financially) those in need of additional assistance. I feel that it is our purpose to help each other get through the challenges we face and realize that we don't need to face them alone.
